Established in 2003, the Department of Politics (B.A. General) is one of the oldest departments of the “ Arts and Commerce College, Rahu. “ The department of Politics conducts classes according to the syllabus provided by the Savitribai Phule Pune University of Pune. The Politics Department organizes classes, lectures along with interdisciplinary classes, interactive classes, use of political maps, discussion on current affairs, tutorial classes, PowerPoint presentations through which the students can get a broader perspective of the latest socio-political developments.
The Department of Politics is the most democratic of all Sciences as the final judgements concerning political reality and good life are the responsibility of all. In this backdrop, the study of politics as a subject is infinitely beneficial in view of it being the key to understanding as well as the possible situation of all problems facing us in our contemporary times; study of the subject opens up multiple opportunities for politics graduates. Students can choose from diverse fields such as civil services, law, journalism, print and electronic media, entre-preneurship, teaching and research etc. for advancing one’s career.
